This adventure is focused on foodies and wine lovers, and authentic cuisine with one of our Italian foodies and wine experts, Claire Dymond @ WingsItaly.

This is an informal adventure designed to give you a taste of Northern Italy’s food culture, sampling a wide variety of local cuisines. Oltrepo is Italy’s largest producer of Pinot Nero with approximately 300, 000 hectares, making it the world’s third-largest producer.

Gastronomical delights from famous Cheeses, Pasta Dishes, and Risottos, are designed to bring you closer to Italy’s food culture through busy markets, home cooking, and dining only where the locals go!

You will also have the opportunity to prepare classic Italian dishes with cooking lessons and wine tastings. On this 5-night, 6-day tour you will be hosted by Claire @ WingsItaly, spending one day at Wings Italy food and wine workshop at the White Horse Barn which will include lunch, dinner, 50 shades of wine, unlimited tea and coffee, interactive cooking lessons, aperitivo, lunch, evening meal, and depending on the weather, pack your bathing costume for a dip in the swimming pool.

You will get to see Certosa di Pavia, a private cruise on the River Po, and a private tour of Torrevilla Vineyard an iconic world recording-breaking vineyard once hosting the largest storage of vertical wine.
Visit towns, villages, and markets and experience real northern Italy.

You’ll also enjoy a traditional Italian Market, followed by lunch in a traditional Italian Trattoria with wines.

7 Meals combination of lunches and evening meals with wine and water.

All transport and escorted Wings Italy throughout.

Villa Lomellini

Your home during this adventure will be a unique monastery, staying at the exclusive Villa Lomellini, set in the lower hills of Oltrepo Pavese. Villa Lomellini is situated on acres of private grounds and has a rich history, now its owned by the Roman Catholic Church and whilst it is a monastic center, the Villa has a reception which is open from early morning to 23.00 hrs, a beautiful dining area and a cash bar is available at certain times.

  • All rooms are en suite with a selection of standard rooms and superior Villa rooms.
  • The superior rooms are situated in the original historical Villa, the bedrooms and bathrooms are furnished of a high elaborate standard, and some of the superior rooms have balconies and some without.
  • These rooms are not normally open to the public, however, WingsItaly is able to offer these rooms to our clients.

The Adventure is about providing the opportunity to be fully emerged into a great unique wine and cheese area! As with all WingsItaly adventures a high level of flexibility and a spontaneous spirit is required, sometimes you just never know what is going to happen next!

Please Note: The River Po evening sunset cruise is dependent on the river conditions, recent droughts have caused the river levels to be low, if this has to be cancelled an alternative event will be offered.
